- Transportation of Materials: Heavy vehicle drivers are primarily responsible for transporting mined Quartzite from the mining site to processing plants, stockpiles, or other designated areas within the mine.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures is paramount. This includes maintaining vehicle safety, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and following traffic rules and regulations on mine roads.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting pre-trip inspections to ensure trucks are in optimal operating condition. Reporting any mechanical issues promptly and performing basic maintenance tasks like refueling, checking oil levels, and cleaning vehicles.
- Loading and Unloading: Collaborating with equipment operators and mining staff to safely load and unload materials from trucks.
- Navigation and Route Planning: Familiarizing with mine layouts and haulage routes to efficiently transport materials while avoiding hazards and adhering to designated speed limits.
- Documentation: Keeping accurate records of materials transported, distances traveled, fuel consumption, maintaining log book and keeping record of periodic repair and maintenance, and also the timely renewal of RC, Fitness, Emission and insurance.
- Communication: Maintaining clear and effective communication with supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members to coordinate daily tasks, report issues, and ensure smooth operation of the transport fleet.
- Environmental Awareness: Operating vehicles in a manner that minimizes environmental impact, such as controlling dust emissions and preventing spills of hazardous materials.
- Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond to emergencies or incidents promptly, including following emergency procedures for spills, accidents, or breakdowns.
- Adherence to Policies and Regulations: Following all company policies, mining regulations, and environmental guidelines to ensure operations are conducted safely and within legal boundaries.
- Carry out any other works as assigned by the Supervisor.
